RMS Students Need a Reflections Chair!

As school starts, many students will be looking for the opportunity to express their artistic creativity this year. The Reflections Program, a National PTA arts competition, is a great way to give students of all ages and abilities that chance with this year's theme being "How Will You Change The World". However, RMS PTSA does not have a chairperson to head up the program this school year. If you are passionate about art, or have a student that wants to participate, or just want to help out, contact enrichment@rmsptsa.org to volunteer for the position or to get more information. This position can be shared by more than one person!

Prepare for the Possibility of Wildfire Smoke
Conditions remain very dry in Washington, and smoke from wildfires is already impacting the Puget Sound area. With several weeks of summer's dry weather ahead, it's a good time to prepare for a possible increase in poor air quality from current or future fires in our region.

Community Reminders
• Please Don’t Feed the Ducks: Feeding wild ducks may seem helpful, but it can be harmful to the animals and their habitat. Providing an unnatural food supply such as bread and even birdseed can make the animals sick, create overcrowding of habitats, and increase aggression towards other birds and humans as they compete for access to the food.

• Please Close the Dumpster Lid: Forgetting to close a lid on a dumpster is more than just unsightly – it attracts pests and creates foul odors. The rainwater that pools inside can also be a problem for local waterways if it becomes contaminated and seeps into drains when the dumpster is emptied. Learn more ways to protect our water sources.
